Ashley's funeral will be this Friday and there is information on his blog about the service, as well as about the memorial fund that's been set up to help his wife and three small children (5, 3 & 2 years old) defray these costs and move forward, somehow (donate buttons in this post and in my left gutter, please, if you can). Those wonderful geeks have built a whole website about him too. If you haven't a clue what I'm talking about, please see the previous post.
I'm posting Blake Haney's video, Blight Field Talks #1 / Rough Edit, Ashley and Oyster sitting in a field talking about blogging and about New Orleans.
Will comply, the sum may seem trivial but I am living on my pensions and
cannot afford more.
JWL
JWL, you are wonderful - what a sweet and generous spirit. Thank you. I'm
in New Orleans, after a long drive. Tomorrow will be a full day. Sweet
dreams, y'all. Peace.
Sophmom, I'm so sorry for this loss. He sounds like the kind of guy who
didn't just sit around feeling sorry for himself.
Thanks, Paula. He had a heckuva send off that's for sure. I'll update the
post with links to NOLA bloggers' accounts. There were aleady a few pics
online when I got back to my quarters after the day-long and well into the
night celebration of his life.
Okay, y'all. It's Tuesday and I'm still on the road. I've started a post
about Ashley's funeral and wake a bunch of times and not finished it. I
have email and Twitter on my hand held. I'll have full time computer access
tomorrow (Thursday at the latest). More to come. Thanks for keeping the
light on for me. :)
